6 Steps to the Perfect Seasonal Frame Gallery
You’ll love decorating your home with this interchangeable seasonal printable gallery!
The frames are inexpensive; the seasonal printables are free (I’ve got a list of 185 of them in this post!); and the effect is simply stunning.
Here’s how to set up a seasonal picture frame gallery in your home!
1) Choose a high traffic location in your home.
Where does your home gets a lot of traffic? Outside the kitchen? In the hall by the front door? In your den?
Let your seasonal picture gallery set the tone for the rest of your house by choosing a busy area of your home.
It’s also important to choose a wall that’s big enough to hold four 11 x 14-inch frames. Ideally this would also be a blank wall, or where the frames collectively are the dominant image on the wall.
This spot is right at the entrance to our kitchen.
2) Grab some 11 x 14 frames.
Pick a set of 11 x 14 frames that have been matted to hold an 8 x 10 image. I prefer to use frames that are all the same style so that the seasonal pictures are the stars, not the frames themselves.
Choose whatever you think would look best with your home decor, but I prefer the look of a plain white frame with an off-white mat. I got mine at IKEA (but Amazon has similar frames here that would work just as nicely!).
3) Print your favorite 8 x 10 seasonal printables and arrange them.
Using a high quality color printer, print out your top four favorite images. If you have the space, you can always choose more (perhaps a group of 6?) but for my space, I prefer a group of 4.
Consider colors as you arrange the frames. For example, I purposely put the black chalkboard print on the top left so that it would best balance with the darkness of the leaf in the print in the bottom right.
4) Remove the backing on the frames and insert the printable.
I added transparent tape on the edges of the printable to keep it in place. The tape will come up easily when it’s time to change out your pictures for the next season.
Look at how great it looks!
5) Hang the seasonal picture frames.
Having a handy husband (who’s good with a level) helps. If I was to hang these, there would be way too many holes in the wall (which makes my husband nuts).
So, one tip for marital bliss in our home? Let him hang the pictures.
6) Change the frames out as needed!
Whenever you’d like, simply replace your images with new ones that match the season!
P.S. Don’t make updating your frames seasonally a stressful thing. Change them as you think of it (and as time allows).
I literally just changed my Mother’s Day-themed printables out and it’s August (what can I say… I really thought they were pretty!). It does only take 5 minutes, but we all get busy! It’s all good, friend.
Store off-season images in a simple manila file folder. You can make a folder for each season, or you can throw them all in one folder together like I do.
Voila! That’s it!
