Have you heard about the new app called Pokemon Go?
It’s really an interesting concept–kind of a virtual geocaching where you must go to different locations and then look for a virtual Pokemon hiding nearby (visible only on an electronic device with the app loaded).
People of all ages are going crazy about this app and, as you may have heard on the news, not always bringing their common sense with them while playing the game. I’ve heard reports of people–grown men, even–falling off a cliff while playing Pokemon Go, for example.
(For the record, I’ve never personally ever been that into a video game. Ahem.)
Anyway… whether you love Pokemon Go or hate it, our world’s obsession with this crazy app is living proof of the power of media.
I mean think about the POWER in these little electronic gadgets that run our days!
So here’s a question: What if we harnessed that power for learning?
What if we used the power of apps to…
- Encourage our children’s reading habits?
- Strengthen their language arts skills?
- Or even teach them computer coding?
Now that’s harnessing the power of technology (in fun, creative ways) for good!
Your kids will love playing these awesome four apps that reinforce math, reading and even STEM skills.
