The Blessing In the Rocks

We hear it first–something beautiful is coming.

It’s hard to believe our ears, especially when all we’ve seen for the longest time is rock and our muscles ache from the endless climbing.

But then the view opens up. And what we thought we’d heard before is, in fact, a visual reality before us.

The beauty–unexpected blessing on the journey–has come.

That moment happens when our child finally can read on his own.

Our oldest son no longer fights incessantly when we pull out the math books.

And we see that all of the transition and hard work brought us to this place that we would have missed had we continued on the expected path.

Once again we discover the blessing of just trusting Him, even though the path seems hazy.

We realize that our tiny step of brave faith has brought us to a place of unimaginable blessings.

And that this sight–this beautiful display of His majesty and glory–is reserved only for those who had trudged the journey.

Friend, I don’t know what you’re experiencing on your homeschool journey right now.

But today, I want to tell you this:

Keep going.

just-keep-going

Keep listening to the One who wants to guide your path.

Stay close to He who will carry you through the unimaginable trials (both the daily struggles and the path-altering ones).

There will come a day when you will reach that waterfall place!

Your sweat and tears as a homeschool mom today are WORTH it.

You will make it, and your entire family will be better for the sacrifices and challenges.

Stand on this promise from God’s word in Isaiah 40:28-31 (NLT):

Have you never heard?
    Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

With Him by your side carrying you through, you got this!

I’m cheering for you too!

Here’s some other resources for more encouragement!

I loved this – I felt I was there, twisting and turning with the journey. It can be scary to step away from the path we think we should be taking, but it might be leading us in the wrong direction. x

Thanks so much for sharing at #FridayFrivolity

I love this! The photos you have to go along with the post are just beautiful too.

This is beautiful! I have taken this trip myself and struggled and ached, (mostly from my heart) and wondered if we would make it. I have also, at last, reached the point of peace you write about, enjoying the victory and suddenly become overwhelmed with gratitude, suddenly so aware of the blessings, opportunity, and love constantly surrounding me. It is not easy being a homeschool Mom. It is, however, the most rewarding position you can hold, if you hold on. Stay the course and stay in prayer. God has got you and so you have got this. One day at a time, girls!
